Lots of Disney World dining news this month! Seasonal offerings are popping up around the resort quick service locations. Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary resort is offering up beef pot roast with seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy for dinner. ESPN Club at Disney’s BoardWalk for chicken and waffles with a kick—jalapeno-cornmeal waffles topped with buttermilk fried chicken and Angry Maple chicken gravy. Brand new on the menu is a barbecue pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich served on thick-cut brioche.
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is serving up four new loaded baked potato meals, each served with a side of soup or salad. Choose from a baked potato topped with one of the following: barbecued pork; broccoli, cheddar, and bacon; chili and cheese; or chicken, bacon, and cheddar. Expect to see more seasonal treats around the resorts through November and December.
Beginning Sunday, Nov. 16, Siesta’s Cantina near the Dig Site pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will serve quick-service breakfast. From 7–11 a.m., Siesta’s Cantina will offer items such as breakfast sandwiches, Mickey waffles and a special “Viva la Vida Breakfast,” which features oatmeal with strawberries and pecans, seasonal fruit and your choice of muffin. Coffee, hot chocolate and other nonalcolic beverages will also be available. This location will be especially convenient to Guests staying in the Cabanas and Ranchos areas. The Disney Dining Plan is accepted.
Beginning January 8, 2015, the Disney princesses will welcome guests to Cítricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa while Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom Park is being refurbished. Reservations are available for Walt Disney World Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members beginning December 3. Reservations open to all guests on December 4. Cinderella will be there to greet guests as they arrive, and the Disney princesses will visit each table for photos and autographs during the dining experience. Breakfast and brunch hours are 8 a.m.-2:20 p.m., and cost is $49.99; $31.99 ages 3-9. The experience is on the Disney Dining Plan (2 entitlements). Cinderella’s Royal Table is expected to reopen in March.
Beginning December 2nd, Spice Road Table in Epcot’s Morocco pavilion will begin making use of Advanced Dining Reservations. Since it’s opening in January, Spice Road hasn’t been packed despite a good variety of offerings and reviews, but ADRs at this lesser known location may be a great way to go for the busy Holiday season.
There are also a few new restaurants on their way to Disney. As we talked about previously, Trattoria al Forna opens its doors to guest December 18, 2014 replacing Cat Cora’s Kouzzina on Boardwalk. Full menus should be listed soon. There are also two amazing new restaurants under construction at Disney Springs (Downtown Disney). The BOATHOUSE and Iron Chef Morimoto’s Asia will be very welcome new additions. Find out the details and see the concept art in our previous posts.
In the rumor mill, Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom is getting a makeover. No details yet, but I’ll keep you informed. Be sure to check our Refurbishments page for up to date listing that may impact your vacation.
