We have yet another long list of Disney updates this week plus some awesome Cyber Monday deals to kick off your Christmas shopping or just fuel your year round Disney addiction. Let’s start off with all of the Disney World news.

Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is offering up a new type of discount, the 4 Park Magic Ticket. The Magic Ticket is basically a discounted standard non-Park Hopper pass that will get you into one Park each day.  The only difference is that it must be used for each of the four Parks, which may be a way to encourage guests to go to Hollywood Studios during the heavy construction right now. The savings are significant though. A standard 4 day ticket is $325, while the 4 day Magic Ticket is only $279 saving you $46 per ticket.

Disney Springs has added some aerial nighttime entertainment in the the form of a 300 strong drone fleet. The lighted drones dance through the air to classic Disney Christmas tunes. Find out more about the drones here.

Pandora – World of Avatar has finally been officially announced for a summer 2017 opening. If you’ve been to Animal Kingdom lately you’ll have already seen some of the floating mountains from the bus terminal and entrance areas. Even from a distance it looks stunning and I for one can’t wait to get in there. Check out some new hi-res concept art here.

Also announced at the recent D23 event in Orlando was the introduction of MagicBand 2. They will work pretty much the same as the current MagicBands, but have a center disc that can be removed and placed inside another carrier, such as a keychain. We’ll be looking for other new tech incorporated into this change.

A new festival is helping fill the rapidly dwindling non-event days at Epcot. The Epcot International Festival of the Arts will be showcasing artists and, of course, food beginning this January. Broadway style musical entertainment will also be featured int he American pavilion. The events will run Friday through Monday each week from January 17th to February 20th.

Tip of the Week

One of the most common questions I get is how do you find all the popular princesses around Disney World. To answer this question I’ve put together an article with locations for each princess and helpful tips on how to get the most out of your meet & greets. Get all the answers in the Disney World Ultimate Princess Meet & Greet Guide.

Disney Movies and Television

If you haven’t been to the theaters this past week, make sure to get out and see Moana. It won’t replace Tangled as my current favorite of the newer Disney animated movies, but it is yet another refreshing departure from the classic princess stories. The music is unique and the visuals are stunning.

Big Hero 6 will be making its return in animated TV form in 2017 on Disney XD and Disney announced that most of the original cast have signed on to provide their voice talent. Big Hero 6 has a lot of potential for story lines and I’d love to see this series really take off.

Disney Studios has its plate very full for the next few years with new films from Disney Animation, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel. Just in 2017 we have the live action Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and Star Wars: Episode VIII that are sure to top box office charts. To help keep track of it all I have a roster of new releases through 2019.
